Currently, as the novel coronavirus pandemic is spreading rapidly all across the world and posing an unprecedented threat to public health, the safety and health of Chinese working staff and students in Thailand concerns deeply the people back in China. During this difficult time, the Confucius Institute at Mae Fah Luang University has received medical supplies from the Chinese Consulate-General in Chiang Mai in an effort to ensure the well-being of the teachers and students of the Confucius Institute.

Facing with the shortage of anti-pandemic materials, the Chinese Consulate-General in Chiang Mai has been disseminating information and knowledge about preventative measures against covid-19 through multiple channels to Chinese students and working staff in Thailand, updating news on prevention efforts by the Thai government, actively raising medical supplies and addressing the worries and problems facing the CI faculty members.

On May 4, the relief items entrusted by the Chinese Embassy in Thailand to the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai arrived at the Confucius Institute at Mae Fah Luang University, touching the hearts of CI teachers and inspiring them to better protect themselves, to contribute their fair share to the joint fight against covid-19 and to work hard.

Distance cannot sever our ties and solidarity will help win the battle. In the face of the sudden outbreak, the Chinese Consulate General in Chiang Mai attaches great importance to the health and safety of CI Chinese teachers assigned to Thailand, makes great efforts to prevent and control the spread of coronavirus in a timely manner and urges CI faculty members to take precautions.

Though far apart, we still look up at the same sky. We could never thank the Chinese Consulate General enough for its support, which warms the heart of every CI faculty member. All of us will work together with the spirit of solidarity, resilience and caution to tide over the difficult times.

Let's join hands in the fight against this pandemic and lend support to fellow Chinese! Let’s help one another and hope for a better tomorrow!
