Since the outbreak of covid-19, the Confucius Institute at Trier University in Germany has received warm care and material assistance from the Chinese Embassy in Germany, Xiamen University and so on. The Chinese and German staffs of the Confucius Institute feel quite grateful and warm in their hearts for the cordial greetings and consolation from afar.

On local time Friday April 24, the materials sent by the Chinese Embassy in Germany were delivered to the Confucius Institute at Trier University, including 30 boxes of Lianhua Qingwen capsules, 6 packs containing 300 disposable medical masks, 30 KN95 masks, 2 handgun-shaped thermometers, 15 packs of wet paper napkins, and the brochures of "Guide to the Protection against Covid-19", etc., which solved the urgent needs of teachers. Chinese Director Li Yi promptly and reasonably distributed materials to the 15 staffs of the Confucius Institute. Everyone was very grateful on getting the anti-epidemic health package from the embassy, and said they would work calmly and scientifically in the fight against the pandemic.

Since February, the Chinese and local Directors of the Confucius Institute at Trier University have lead the staff in the fight against the pandemic. Li Yi has personally solicited FFP2 masks, prepared the disinfectant according to WHO standards, and gave them to teachers of the Confucius Institute in the first time. Xiamen University, as from a sister city of Trier, also sent two batches of medical masks. The Confucius Institute at Trier University has frequently put online various anti-pandemic lectures and information. Meanwhile, they also paid close attention to the relevant live broadcast of the Chinese Embassy in Germany and the Q&A briefings held by the anti-pandemic expert group. Though separated by a mountain, we’ll share the same clouds and rain. The bright moon belongs not to a single town. Let us be united in the global fight against the pandemic through common trials and hardships.
